500 Days of Summer

Found this trailer on Mary's blog: A Lemon Lightbulb yesterday and can't wait to see this movie. It should be released in theaters July 17th.

glamour x glamour x glamour x glamour

Dolce and Gabana's Fall '09 Collection is full of over the top glam. The use of the immortal images of glamour personified, aka Marilyn and the platforms that hearken back to Minnie Mouse's heels make quite the strong and direct message. Glamour, even in a trite and frank display is not dead much like the unfading image on the clothing.

obsession of the moment: Luella Spring '09 skirts.

They're perfect! Not too short, not too long and the overly girlish details would look great with a tough boot and simple tank.

Deco

There is nothing like getting an $80 parking ticket to ruin your day (FYI don't park in the red zone in front of the post office for even 2 seconds in the Palisades).  Luckily, I stumbled upon these art deco inspired pieces by Roberto Cavalli on Net-a-porter.com and my moods were back up again.  These pieces are so unique and fun how could they not put a smile on my face? Too bad they are a bit pricey, but a girl can dream.  Pin It

stand by your man.

Bond girls have always been an epitome of glamour meets sex-appeal meets ass-kicking for me. I love how their style has evolved, but my personal favorites are from the sixties and the campy movies from the seventies and eighties.

Strawberry Fields Forever

Ever since childhood strawberries have always been my fave fruit. Maybe that is why I think these strawberry earrings are so delightful. These handmade earrings can be found them on RockPaperCraft which also carries some other really cute and unique handmade accessories. (Hint: good idea for mother's day coming up). Pin It

Le freak c'est chic.

Sasha Pivovarova is a constant on the catwalk and in all the mags, but it's her off runway looks that really intrigue me. Sometimes her off kilter style just quite plainly, makes me smile.

inSPURrational

I saw the top pic on jak & jil blog and started thinking about spurs. Although the traditional use is to jab a horse in it's side to move faster, there are also the less pain inflicting, more ornamental alternatives.
I love how they were used on the bootie rather than the obvious cowboy boot. Pin It

A Day at Olvera Street

Poncho anyone??

Handmade leather bags from Murillo's.

Spontaneity took hold of me once again and I ended up on Olvera street.  Believe it or not after living in Los Angeles for 13 years I have never ventured to this charming spot.  If you haven't been I suggest you go because you'll feel like you stepped into an old Mexican village.  There are great little places eat (I recommend the cheese enchiladas.. YUM!)  and mexican candies as shown above.   I'm really into the leather bags that are made at Murillo's which is a family business that has been on Olvera street for over 40 years. Also I'm really into that brown suede vest, I may have to go back and purchase it.   Pin It

Leather Pants Inspiration

Leather pants can make any good girl go bad.  I love how the model in the first picture softened the look with a light blue oxford shirt and a simple pair of flats. The last picture I found on the Alta Mira blog of Dree Hemingway.  Pin It

Coachella: The good, the bad, the ugly and the very interesting. Part 2: The fest.

The festival was tons of fun. I saw incredible acts, including Sebastian Tellier, Antony & the Johnsons, (both above), Public Enemy, My Bloody Valentine, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, M.I.A. etc.
Coachella fashion is pretty, well, interesting (and slutty). Due to my amazing boyfriend, I got both sidestage and VIP access (meaning you run into celebs and models while going to the restroom).
Overall, as annoying and crowded as Coachella can be, I had a great time with my friends and can't wait to hear about next year's line up. Pin It
